Police respond to ‘mental health incident’ in Knightdale neighborhood; Laurens Way closed until further notice

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WTVD) — There was a heavy police presence Sunday afternoon in front of a home in a Knightdale neighborhood.

Officers are actively working on a scene on Laurens Way for what Knightdale Police Department described as a “mental health incident.” People called authorities saying they were concerned about the individual inside the home.

The street is closed between Lynnwood Road and Wide Waters Parkway, and drivers are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
